The New Society Jazz and Rhythm & Blues Band plays music from several genres - from the traditional jazz / dixieland  jazz of Louis Armstrong and the Thirties dance bands of Hylton and Fox to the swing of Goodman and Miller; through the laid back tempos of classic New Orleans Rhythm & Blues of Professor Longhair, Fats Domino and Dr John to the classic Rock and Roll era of the fifties.

We specialise, however, in the dance band music of the 30's.

The music for your  special occasion is your choice.We can accommodate your preferences be it Traditional jazz, Rhythm & Blues, some pop or American Songbook / standard show tunes - or a mix !  You can also decide on the number of musicians you want  to entertain you. We could turn out as a :                                                                                                                                             trio -sax, guitar, bass                                                                                                                                 quartet - trumpet, sax, guitar and  bass                                                                                         quintet - with the addition of drums                                                                                                     sextet - add a trombone                                                                                                                             septet - with a female vocalist.                                                                                                                  or with a talented female singer added to any of the combinations.                                                      The fee is calculated as:  per musician / hour
